Green Party Spring Conference 2007, Swansea 

Although ELF is a non-political organisation, it has, in recent years attended the Green Party Spring and Autumn Conferences, as useful opportunities to promote ELF services to those who clearly have an interest in environmental issues.

This Spring Conference was held in Swansea, and in addition to running an ELF promotional stall for the full four days of Conference, ELF ran two fringe events.

The first event, at the very beginning of the four days picked up on the theme of the day - Renewable Energy - and with the assistance of Rory Hutchings, a solicitor from John Collins and Partners LLP, based in Swansea, ELF ran a short seminar/discussion group on how to object to, or support, a planning application for a new development relating to energy generation.

The second fringe event which ELF ran was held on the busiest day of the Conference Saturday, and was very well attended. This seminar, picking up on the theme of Environmental Education, provided a short introduction to environmental and planning law, in the context of using the legal system as part of environmnetal campaigning. ELF was assisted in this by Dr Victoria Jenkins of the School of Law, Swansea University.
